Greetings my fellow Operators:
As the majority of you are certainly aware, there are some smaller commercial airports that combine Police/Security and Operations into one division. I am reaching out to other regional airports and also aviation security professionals/experts for their insight into exactly how that works. How is that kind of division structured?
I would assume that these types of personnel are "police first, and OPS second," correct?
Are there instances where Operations personnel become POST certified so that they can serve as Police/Security while they still satisfy their Part 139 compliance duties?
What are the guidelines, if any, set forth by 1542 on this issue?
